Cabinet Institutes are offered prior to the opening of the Fall Leadership Summit and the Winter Institute and Lobby Day and provide an opportunity for deputy and assistant superintendents, directors and principals to convene, share best practices and learn more about topics of interest.

P-12 Education Policy in the Age of President Trump: Legal Issues for the Cabinet-Level Administrator
This session will focus on legal hot topics and updates on education law, as they affect cabinet-level leaders, including: FERPA, registration of new students, CPS and transgender policies and procedures. Presented by John P. Lynch, Esq., Partner, Hogan, Sarzynski, Lynch, DeWind & Gregory, LLP.
- LGBTQ Students and Employees / An overview of individual rights with particular focus on transgender individuals and the current law both State and Federal.
- Religion in Public Schools / Current topics in religious expression and practice at school, including discussions of religious exemption from vaccination, religious garb, Bible clubs and accommodating the Ramadan fast.
- Agency Shop Fee and the Unions / What happens when the Supreme Court declares agency shop fee unconstitutional?
- A Roundtable / Questions, answers and comments on whatever is on your mind.
